I think what this quote means is that if you do the right thing and live the right way then you don't necessarily need a reward right then and there because if the future you will be rewarded a lot more. For example, if you have been doing good things all your life and never earned a reward the maybe you will be rewarded in some other way. I think that it was good of the woman to give the money back because it was a large amount and it belonged to a man who had health problems. She did the right thing because the man could have needed that money for a doctor or something. Other people would have taken the money and claimed it for themselves. Those people don't realize the loss of the person who that belongs to especially for that amount of money. I would have returned it and I wouldn't want a thing back because I would have felt good inside and I would have been proud of myself. I think that it is important for people to do the right thing because then it sets examples for others. Then they will start to do the right thing.
