The harmful effects of smoking

  • Cigarette smoking causes more than 480,000 deaths each year
  •  Its nearly one in five deaths
  • smoking can cause cancer 
  • smokers are at greater risk at developing cardiovascular disease 
  • Smoking causes cancer everywhere in your body, lung, bladder, blood, colon, esophagus, liver, pancreas etc. 
  • smoking can make it harder for a woman to get pregnant, it can also effect preterm delivery, stillbirth, low birth weight, sudden infant death syndrome, ectopic pregnancy, orofacial clefts in infants etc. 
  • More than 10 times as many U.S. citizens have died prematurely from cigarette smoking than have died in all the wars fought by the United States.
