"I wont cheat" - Dale Murphy Dale Murphy kept his promise of never cheating in baseball or anything else. He expected the next generation to keep this promise too. For example, he never drank, never smoked, remained loyal to his wife, never lied and never cheated. He was determined to play correctly and honorably. He swore he would always do the right thing. I think it is important for people not to cheat because then they will never learn from their mistakes. I think its hard for people not to cheat because people want to win something so badly.

"Character matter most." - Dale Murphy I think Dale Murphy was right when he said this because you can be strong you can be handsome or beautiful but it wont matter if you don't have good character. For example if there is a woman and she is rich and beautiful but has a really awful personality then is it really worth being with that woman. I think people should have good character. I think that the only reason why it shouldn't be good character is because they have been hurt so many times and badly. so bad that they can't be happy and make others happy too. If that's the case then they should talk to someone and express their feelings in a different way instead of being angry. I would rather be happy and make others happy than be sad or angry and put others down because no person should ever be hurt to that point.

Reflection: I would like to be one because I have always wanted to be one. I have always liked being around children because some of the can be cute and adorable and they are always curious as to what things are and what they do. I like helping people especially when it comes to kids. I always try and make them happy when they are upset. It has been my dream job since the 6th grade.

"Great beauty. great strength, and great riches are really and truly of no great use; a right heart exceeds all." - Benjamin Franklin  If you are beautiful or rich or strong it wont matter if you are an awful person. No one will want to be true friends with you if you have a bad personality. If you have a good heart or a good personality people will want to be friends with you because of your kindness. There are a lot of rich people in the world who spend their money for useless things. Then there are rich people who don't spend their money on useless things like helping those in need. Those people are good at heart because they are sharing their money. A good heart is what is really important because people will like you more if you are kind. some people can take advantage of your kindness and use your for your things. Those people are the worst because they don't need to do that. They do it out of choice and because they like hurting people. For example,

Reflection: I would like to be one because this job seems interesting to me. I don't think I would get bored of it very easily. The job description makes it sound pretty easy. The pay is really good and the pay can increase too.

"It may make a difference to all eternity whether we do right or wrong today." - James F. Clarke I think what this quote means is that what we do whether it is right or wrong is going to leave a mark on the world. Maybe not every one will know about what you did or maybe they will but no matter what you do someone will know about it whether you want to or not. I think that it is better to do the right thing and be known for doing the right thing rather than to be known for doing the wrong thing. For example the man who killed 17 people at a high school in Florida will forever be known as a murderer. He left his mark on the world and know he is paying for what he did. He knew what he was doing wrong and he still chose to do it because he wanted attention. Everything you do has a consequence and it can be a positive one or a negative one. President's Day is Washington's birthday. It is a federal holiday in which it honors presidents of the United States. President's Day is celebrated on the third Monday of February in honor of George Washington the first president of the United States. On this holiday everyone takes a break from work or school to celebrate it. What my family does on Presidents day is we have a Bar-b-que. We cook meat or chicken and we invite our family over and play games or we catch up because we don't always have time to talk to one another. I spend time with my cousins the most.                                                                                                                                          

"Ask yourself is it right or wrong and act accordingly." - Otto Graham, Jr. I think what this quote means is that if you encounter a situation where you have to ask yourself if it is right or wrong you must act to whichever one you choose. If the situation is wrong do what you have to do to get out of that situation. If it is right act the right way so you don't make a mistake and make it because a bad situation for others. For example if you go to the park with your friends and the bring out drugs and start using them you should automatically know that it is a bad situation and you need to leave. Another example could be you are at a friends house and your having fun your instinct should be to act the right way and continue to have fun with them as long as it isn't harming anyone. Anytime I am going somewhere I always stop and think if it is a right or wrong thing and if its right I will go and if it is wrong I would not go.  

The history of Valentine's day is actually pretty bad. No one knows the exact origin of where Valentine's day came from but some people think it came from Rome, where men hit on women by hitting them. The men would sacrifice a goat and a dog and then hit the women with the hides of the animals they had just killed. The women would actually line up so that men would hit them because they thought it would make them fertile. Valentine's day also included a matchmaking lottery where young men would choose a young woman's name from a jar and they would be coupled and their "love" would last the duration of the festival called "Lupercalia" or longer if the match was right. The Romans might also be responsible for the name of Valentines day because Emperor Claudius the Second executed two men named Valentine on Feb.14.  As years went on the holiday became sweeter where handwritten love cards we made. Today is also called SAD (Single Awareness Day).

"Act well your part; there all honor lies." - Alexander Pope I think what this quote means is that if you act well you will be honorable. For example if you save someones life you will have honor. Whenever someone does their best or at least tries I think they are honorable because they are trying. Not many people try to do their best because they simply don't care. I always try to do my best whenever or wherever I can because I was always taught to keep trying whenever I want to achieve something no matter how hard it is. I think it is important for people to do well and try their best because then that shows they have initiative. They do whatever they can to achieve something or get something that they have always wanted.

Salary: $162,908 - $221,196 USD Education: Earn a bachelor's degree, complete medical school, obtain licensure, complete training, career advancement.   Demands or Needs: good coordination and communication skills, ability to show empathy, observational skills, initiative. Reflection:  I wouldn't like to be one because this job doesn't seem interesting to me and I think I would get bored of it.  

"Associate yourself with men of good quality if you esteem your own reputation; for 'tis better to be alone than in bad company. - George Washington I think what this quote means is that you should pick the right people to be friends with. I also believe that it is better to be alone than to be with bad company. For example, if you hang out with people that use drugs and you don't use drugs the peer pressure will start to get to you. Eventually you will start using drugs yourself. Its better to be with people that actually care about you and who value your opinions or your way of seeing things. Those people really do care because they listen and they act or they know when somethings wrong an they will do something about it because they are your true friends.

Salary: $519,000 USD Education: 4 years bachelors degree program, 4 additional years in medical school, and 4-5 year orthopedic surgery residency. Demands or Needs for this profession: good eye hand coordination, excellent vision, Reflection: Would you like to be one? Why or why not?      I would not like to be one because even though it seems interesting to me 12 years doesn't seem worth it to me. 12 years is a lot of time for someone to become an orthopedic surgeon and I would waste 12 years doing that. The skills that are needed for this profession I don't even have them and I think it would be hard for me to develop them. I think it is a good career but to spend that much time in school and still develop those skills isn't the right career for me.

"Right is only right when entire." - Victor Hugo    I think what this quote means is that even when you tell the truth but tell a little part of it untrue your still lie. For example when you go out to a party with your friends and they start drinking then you start drinking then your mom asks you where you went and you tell her but you leave out the drinking part. You didn't tell the truth you lied to your mom. I would rather tell the truth than tell a lie no matter how severe the situation. If you keep on lying and lying your just digging a deeper grave for yourself. Its better to tell the truth and deal with the consequences than lie and lie and deal with way worse consequences.  Lying also hurts he person your lying to because they want to know the truth and you aren't giving it to them.You just keep comforting them with lies and in the end your the lair and the person being lied to are both going to get hurt.
